# Multiple text editing

When your selection only contains **text blocks** ([Text](https://docs.vivlab.com/en/editor/menu/text.md), [Button](https://docs.vivlab.com/en/editor/menu/button.md)) — one or several, via `Shift+click` or the [rectangle selection](https://docs.vivlab.com/en/editor/interaction/drag-select.md) — a **common rich-text toolbar** appears at the top of the editor. It lets you apply formatting to every selected block in one action.

<DocsScreenshot name="editor-text-toolbar" alt="The shared toolbar for selected text blocks." caption="The shared toolbar for selected text blocks." :width="702" :height="60" />

## Shared capabilities

The common bar only exposes the functions **shareable** across every selected block:

- **Text alignment**: left, center, right, justified.
- **Font**: choose a new font for every block.

If every selected block is of type **Text**, two extra options appear:

- **Lists**: bulleted or numbered.
- **Headings**: levels 1, 2, 3, etc.

The last two are hidden as soon as a button is in the selection (buttons aren't meant to contain headings or lists).

## AI proofreading

The **AI Stars** icon launches simultaneous spelling correction on every selected text. Handy when you want to proofread an entire page in a single pass.

## Edit the content of a single block

The common bar **does not** let you edit the text itself: only global formatting is available there. To edit the content of a specific block, deselect the others and **double-click** on the block to switch to standard [Text editing](https://docs.vivlab.com/en/editor/interaction/block-text.md) mode.
