# Discounts

At the register, a discount always goes through a coupon created in advance. The register doesn't let you enter a custom discount, as an amount or a percentage.

- **Create a coupon**: open **Store > Coupons**. This section is available to the **Manager** role only.
- **Apply a coupon**: during the sale, open **Cart actions**, then **Add a coupon**, and enter the **Coupon code**. Every role can apply a coupon.
- **Remove a coupon**: reopen its window from **Cart actions** and tap **Remove**.

A coupon can't be edited once created: deactivate it and create another one if needed.
