# Products

Every item sold at the register must exist in the catalogue: the register doesn't offer open-amount sales. The catalogue is managed in **Store > Products**, a section available to the **Manager** role only.

- Open **Store > Products** to create a product or change its price.
- Make sure every item has a VAT rate. An item without a rate gets the default tax rate set in **Settings > Settings**, **Fiscal information** section. If no rate applies, checkout is refused.
- In the list, scan a barcode to find the matching product.
