# Tags

**Tags** are keywords readers can use to filter your [articles](https://docs.vivlab.com/en/sections/blogs-articles.md), such as _new_, _promotion_ or _interview_. They are not organized into parent and child groups like [categories](https://docs.vivlab.com/en/sections/blogs-categories.md). You can give an article several tags, whatever its categories.

Come here whenever you launch a new article format that deserves a dedicated filter, when you want to clean up a tag that's no longer useful, or when you want to temporarily turn off a filter on your site.

The dashboard is shown in French, with English captions.

## Tag list

This section lists all your existing tags with their name and state. Click **Create a tag** to add a new one.

For each tag, fill in the **Tag name** field (the label as it will appear on the site) and set its state with the **Tag status** switch. A disabled tag no longer appears as a filter on the site but stays attached to the articles that use it, so you can reactivate it later without losing its history.

Click on a row to edit or delete an existing tag. By ticking several tags you can activate, deactivate or delete them, or export them to a CSV file.
