Summer 2024: a new page editor

On July 1, 2024, a new page editor goes live on Vivlab. It offers more flexibility and freedom while staying accessible, after several years of user feedback on the previous editor.

Website

A new, freer editor

The editor has been redesigned from the ground up around a grid on which you freely place your elements (text, images, shapes, etc.) by drag-and-drop. Your pages are organised into sections that you can move up or down to reorganise your content.

Main new features:

  • Free element placement — drop your blocks wherever you want on the grid, no more rigid structure.
  • PC & Mobile side-by-side view — mobile customisation gets finer-grained, with a side-by-side editing mode for both versions.
  • Real-time saving — your changes are saved automatically. You stay in control of publication through a dedicated menu, and you can browse the publication history to revert to a previous version if needed.
  • Navigation bar and footer customisation — these two areas can now be edited with the same tools as pages, with templates available to get started faster.

Accessing the new editor

Simply create a new page from the Page list to start using it. The old editor remains available by ticking Use the old editor in the advanced settings during page creation.

Migration of existing pages

Your existing pages remain editable with the old editor. They will be migrated automatically to the new one by the end of 2024, and you'll be notified.

Temporary unavailabilities

Carousels and announcement bars aren't available in the new editor yet. They will be back soon.
