Winter 2023: dark mode, private pages and new payments

Winter 2023 opens the door to password-protected pages, a second online payment provider, a custom-code editor, and brings dark mode to the dashboard, along with many improvements on the store side.

Dark mode

A dark mode appears to ease the eyes during extended dashboard use. Activate it from the home or the settings menu — it only affects the admin interface, not your site's appearance.

Website

Make a page private

You can now protect a page with a password to make it accessible only to those who have it. Each page has its own password, which can be changed at any time. The setting is available from the Page list, under the Make page private option.

Custom codes

A new Custom codes section lets you add your own CSS or JavaScript to your site. Snippets are managed independently, making it easier to add bespoke effects or third-party scripts.

Clickable links on images and elements

The page editor now lets you add a link on an image or element without going through a button. The setting is activated from the element's advanced settings, under Action on click, or directly from the media editing options.

Right-click disabling

You can protect all your pages by disabling right-click. This limits content scraping and image downloads. The option is found in the Site behavior section of the Themes area.

Domain setup

The guidance for setting up a Domain name has been reworked to walk you through the process more effectively.

Store

Vivawallet — new online payment provider

Alongside Stripe, Vivawallet joins the Online payments section as a payment processor. You can now collect your orders via either provider, configurable from the dashboard.

Pricing

Vivawallet fees are slightly higher than Stripe's.

Product page improvements

• Loading speed of product pages improved.
• New image display on product pages, available from the Product page theme.
• Image zoom on product pages for visitors, to better appreciate photo details.
• Hover image on product cards, for a livelier catalog experience.
• File size and weight limits removed when uploading images: the platform now handles optimisation server-side.
• Progressive image loading for a better sense of speed on the visitor side.

Search in facet filters

Facet filters management gains a search field, useful when the list of values starts to grow.
