Cookie banner
This page opens the cookie banner in the editor, with the same tools as your pages. It is the banner shown at the bottom of the screen on every page of your site until the visitor accepts or refuses cookies. It only shows when a marketing extension is active (Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager or the Facebook Pixel).
Open it from Themes, Website tab.
As for a pop-up, the editor draws the banner over your home page, at the bottom of a window: you see right away what it covers, on desktop and mobile.
Elements
The Elements button offers the elements of the banner:
- Refuse button: closes the banner without loading your tracking tools.
- Accept button: accepts cookies and loads your tracking tools.
The title ("We use cookies 🍪" by default) and the explanation (why the site uses cookies, and that refusing them changes nothing to the visit) are regular text blocks written in your dashboard's language: edit them like any text, they are translated for your visitors like the rest of your site. The buttons show your site's text, translated into the visitor's language. To replace it, select the element, click it again and type right on the banner: Enter or a click elsewhere saves it, Escape cancels. Emptied, the default text comes back. You can also add regular blocks: a link to your privacy policy, an image…
Section backgrounds stay transparent: the page shows around the blocks. Give the banner its color on its blocks, or on a section for a full-width bar.
Looks
On first opening, the banner takes the look of the original one. To pick another look:
- Click the page background: the Cookie banner panel opens.
- In Templates, click Change, then pick Card, Bar, Dark card or Minimal.
- Confirm with Apply.
Every look keeps the same elements and the texts you typed; only the position, colors and spacing change. You can undo it, and Reset layout goes back to the original look (Card).
Publish
Publish layout first checks that the Accept and Refuse buttons are both there on desktop and mobile: refusing must stay as easy as accepting. It then shows a preview and puts the banner live. Until the layout is published, visitors see the original banner.
