Page editor keyboard shortcuts

Select a block in the central canvas of the page editor, then use the shortcuts below. For block actions, keyboard focus must be on the canvas, rather than in a sidebar field or text you are editing.

On Mac, means Command and ⌥ Option corresponds to Alt. A + means you hold the keys together.

Copy, paste and undo

ActionWindows / LinuxMac
Undo the last changeCtrl + Z⌘ + Z
Redo an undone changeCtrl + Shift + Z or Ctrl + Y⌘ + Shift + Z
Copy selected blocksCtrl + C⌘ + C
Paste copied blocks into the selected containerCtrl + V⌘ + V
Paste text or an image from the clipboard into the pageCtrl + V⌘ + V
Delete selected, unlocked blocksDelete or Backspace⌫ Delete or Forward Delete

Before pasting blocks, select their destination section or container. Pasting external text creates a text block. Changes are saved automatically, so you do not need a save shortcut.

Select and move

Duplicate a block and drag the copyHold Alt before starting to dragHold ⌥ Option before starting to drag

Arrow keys move blocks within their container boundaries. They do not move locked blocks. A cell is one unit of the grid, rather than a screen pixel.

When dragging with Shift, the dominant direction determines the horizontal or vertical axis. Release Shift to move freely again. To duplicate, hold Alt or ⌥ Option from the start of the gesture: clicking without dragging does not create a copy.

See also the rectangle selection and moving blocks guides.

Resize and rotate

ActionWindows / LinuxMac
Resize freely from a corner without preserving proportionsHold Shift while dragging a corner handleHold Shift while dragging a corner handle
Resize from the centerHold Alt while dragging a resize handleHold ⌥ Option while dragging a resize handle
Resize freely from the centerHold Alt + Shift while dragging a cornerHold ⌥ Option + Shift while dragging a corner
Rotate in 15° incrementsHold Shift while dragging the rotation handleHold Shift while dragging the rotation handle

Without Shift, corner handles preserve proportions. Side handles change a single dimension. You can press or release the keys during resizing or rotation. Releasing Shift during rotation restores one-degree adjustments.

The resizing and rotation guides explain where to find the handles.

Zoom

ActionWindows / LinuxMac

Use Ctrl for this gesture, including on Mac. You can also choose a zoom level from the bottom bar.
